Hello. 🌱
We're still just a seed.
Mend & Bloom is being founded by trauma survivors, for trauma survivors—with a mission to connect with and advocate for women and girls to help them find hope and beauty within.
Our reach extends to those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, depression, suicidal ideation, domestic violence, betrayal trauma, divorce, single-parent life, losing a loved one to suicide, PTSD, dissociative disorders, and other very real circumstances.
Through our organization's activities and events, women and girls come together to do kintsugi (金継ぎ), a method of repairing broken pottery with gold. Participants learn of the striking symbolism in kintsugi that can empower them in their own mending. Then, vases are planted to represent new growth. Volunteers can also participate to donate their pieces to trauma survivors. The final planted vases represent beauty in scars and new growth that is possible after trauma. Hence, mend and bloom.
We are currently in the process of forming a board and incorporating. If you are interested in being involved or partnering with our organization, please contact Kelsie.
